Since 1986 the US Mint has been producing the modern Silver Eagle. This coin is a legal tender silver coin with a face value of $1, and contains 1 Troy oz of .999 fine silver.
The American Silver Eagle (ASE) is extremely popular with investors as it carries with it the implicit guarantee of the US Government for purity and authenticity.
Coins sold under this code are not in perfect condition. Some are "decorated", with enamels, gold electro-plate or other embellishments, while others look like they were dragged behind a pickup. Some have scratches, toning, or have been improperly cleaned with chemicals. However, they are all 1 oz pure (.999) silver, and are priced accordingly.
Assorted years and not always in stock. Most of the ones currently in stock are of the "painted" kind.
