On the reverse, an image of the shoulder sleeve insignia of Supreme Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Force is shown along with a quotation from Dwight D. EISENHOWER, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, ONE DOLLAR, E PLURIBUS UNUM.

This proof $1 Dollar silver coin was struck at the West Point Mint. It is made the same composition and size as the old (pre-1936) Silver Dollars- 90% silver, 10% copper, 38.5mm diameter and containing 0.7734 Troy oz of silver.
