Modern Turkey came into being after the fall of the Ottoman Empire, and this coin was minted in the first year of the new Turkey's existence.
The obverse of the coin has a profile of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk (the first President of Turkey) and reads "Hakimiyet Milletindir" above ("Sovereignty is of the people") and "Ankara" below. The reverse of the coin has the inscription Turkiye Cumhuriyeti (Republic of Turkey) with the date below, surrounded by a wreath.
The coin is in Uncirculated condition, and weighs 7.23 grams, containing 0.2126 Troy oz of gold in a 22 karat alloy.
