This 8.16 gram gold coin was minted in 1979 for the Republic of Panama by the Franklin Mint, it contains 0.2361 troy oz of gold in a 900 fine alloy.
"La Tortuga de Oro" honors the handicrafts of the Cunas, one of the oldest Indian tribes in Panama.
The obverse portrays a turtle in the hand-woven style of the Cunas, and the reverse bears the coat of arms of the Republic of Panama and the denomination.
