1867 French 5 Francs gold coin, .900 fine and containing 0.0467 troy oz of gold, in Extra Fine condition.
The first regular circulation coinage of gold 5 francs started for Napoleon III from 1854 to 1869, and then for the Third Republic in 1878 and 1889.
Obverse features a bust of Napoleon III, the reverse has "5 FRANCS 1867" surrounded by a laurel wreath with the inscription "EMPIRE FRANCAIS" around the outside. The minmark "A" appears below.
Mintage was 6,586,442.
