1990 California Gold Round 1/2 troy oz .9999 fine silver, minted by Continental Coin in Van Nuys, CA.
Round has the Great Seal of the State of California on the obverse, the reverse has "California Gold" "1/2 Troy oz 9999 Fine" and 1990 with a Grizzly bear sow and cub.
Interesting history to these, they were struck using California gold, in California so they were exempt from sales tax. Continental Coin are best known for producing the 1981 "Strategic Reserve" silver rounds and bars using silver auctioned off by the U.S. government from the Defense National Stockpile.
