2015 Australian Kookaburra, 25th anniversary minting. The Perth Mint introduced the highly popular Kookaburra series in 1990, and was the first coin in the world with a design that changed every year. The coins contain 1 Troy oz of .999 fine silver, and feature proof-like finishes.
When first introduced it had a face value of 5 Australian Dollars, but in 1992 switched to $1.
The 2015 Kookaburra features the original design from 1990, and depicts an adult kookaburra sitting on a tree stump surrounded by eucalyptus leaves and a fern.
