2011 Canada Wildlife Silver Wolf 1 Troy oz

2011 Canada Silver Wolf $5 Brilliant Uncirculated .9999 fine Silver 1 Troy oz, Wildlife Series.

This coin is being struck by the Royal Canadian Mint as a collector coin, not as a bullion coin. It is modeled after the short-lived Canadian Silver Wolf $1 coin which was minted in 2006 as a half-ounce option to the popular one-ounce Maple Leaf coins. As a bullion coin it turned out to be a commercial failure, and only 106,800 were minted before production was permanently halted.

However the coins were extremely popular with collectors, and by the end of year the Mint was sold-out. So they decided to revive the design and issue limited mintages for collectors.

These coins feature Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse with "Canada 5 Dollar" underneath, and a Timber Wolf standing in snow silhouetted against a full moon on the reverse.
