2001 South Africa Natura Oryx Gold Proof 1/10th Troy oz

Starting in 1994 the South African Mint produces a series of "Natura" proof coins. Each year a theme is chosen, and each of the four coins (1/10, 1/4, 1/2 and 1 oz) has a different design. The Natura series are struck .9999 fine gold, South Africa's first fine gold coins.

This 2001 minted 1/10 Troy oz coin is from the last of the "Monarchs of Africa" series- the Oryx (Gemsbok) - Prince of the Kalahari. The head of the Oryx appears on the obverse drinking water.

Coin comes in a presentation box, is sealed in an acrylic holder and with certificate of authenticity.
