Special commemorative silver coin minted for the Government of Western Samoa (now just Samoa) to commemorate the Royal Perth Yacht Club's 1987 defense of the America's Cup.
Minted by the world renowned Singapore Mint these proof coins are struck in .999 fine silver and weigh 5 troy oz. The obverse features a schooner under sail, with 1987 under the hull and "America's Cup" and "Perth Australia" on either side. The reverse features the America's Cup trophy with Samoa I Sisifo (Western Samoa) above and denomination below $25 (25 Tala). Weight and fineness are also inscribed.
Coin is sealed in acrylic holder, comes in a Singapore Mint labeled velvet box and is accompanied by numbered certificate of authenticity.
