1972 Jamaica $20 Gold coin, struck to commemorate the 10th Anniversary of Independence (1962).
Struck in .500 fine gold, coin contains 0.2531 troy oz actual gold. Coin is in brilliant uncirculated condition.
Obverse depicts the Jamaican shield of arms with supporters and the inscriptions "TWENTIETH ANNIVERSARY OF INDEPENDENCE" and "TWENTY DOLLARS", while the reverse features a map of the island of Jamaica and Christopher Columbus' fleet.
Only one available, in original cardboard holder from the Royal Canadian Mint. These were struck as specimens, and are not as common as the proofs (struck at the Franklin Mint). The holder has been opened, and re-taped (a long time ago- very old tape).
