1971-S Eisenhower Silver Dollar Unc
Product Description
Eisenhower Dollars were struck to commemorate Dwight D. Eisenhower, who died in 1969, and the Apollo 11 moon landing of the same year.
Not intended for circulation, this coin was struck at the San Francisco Mint in 40% silver (contains 0.3162 Troy oz of silver) and sold to collectors.
The uncirculated versions of the Eisenhower Silver Dollars were packaged in blue envelopes, which contained the Eisenhower Dollar sealed in one window of a cellophane wrapper with a blue plastic token sealed in a second window. Because of the color of the outer packaging, many collectors refer to these coins as "Blue Ikes".
Blue Ikes were offered for four years from 1971 to 1974.
