2009-P Lincoln Bicentennial Masters Set PCGS PR69
2009 was the 200th anniversary of the birth of Abraham Lincoln, and a number of coins were planned by the U.S. Mint for the occasion.
First, a series of four pennies, each depicting a period in the 16th President's life was commissioned. Also to commemorate the occasion the proof coins were struck in 95% copper, just like the first Lincoln pennies in 1909 (pennies have been 97.5% zinc with only a thin layer of copper since 1983).
A commemorative silver dollar was also struck.
This set was put together by PCGS using both the 2009-P Abraham Lincoln Commemorative Proof Dollar and the 4 2009-S Proof Pennies. This was not a combination marketed by the U.S. Mint.
This proof $1 Dollar silver coin was struck at the Philadelphia Mint. It is made the same composition and size as the old (pre-1936) Silver Dollars- 90% silver, 10% copper, 38.5mm diameter and containing 0.7734 Troy oz of silver.
Set is graded PF69 Deep Cameo, which are coins with an exceptional mirror-like finish.
