2008-W US Gold Buffalo 4 Coin Set, burnished dies, each coin graded MS70 by NGC.
The Buffalo Gold coin reprises the greatly admired design of the Indian Head nickel and has gained its nickname from the American Bison on the reverse side of the design.
These are the first United States Mint pure (.9999) 24-karat gold coins, the 1 oz coin has a legal tender (face) value of US$50, the 1/2 oz is $25, the 1/4 oz is $10 and the 1/10 oz is $5. Total of 1.85 troy oz pure gold.
From the first (and apparently the last) year that the US Gold buffalo coins were struck in fractional sizes. They were also struck on special burnished dies, giving these coins a softer and more pleasing finish than on the regular uncirculated issue.
Set comes in a custom made mahogany display box, with outer cardboard protective box.
