This is a 2006 Gold Buffalo Proof Coin, containing One Troy oz 0.9999 fine gold (24 karat).
The Buffalo Gold coin follows the greatly admired design of the Indian Head nickel and has gained its nickname from the American Bison on the reverse side of the design. This is the first United States Mint pure (.9999) 24-karat gold coin. The coin has a legal tender (face) value of US$50.
This proof comes in the original US Mint packaging, with acrylic coin protector, felt display box and outer cardboard box, with certificate of authenticity.
