Product Description

1990 "Pride of Australia" Gold $200 Proof coin depicting the platypus. This was the second in a series of six Two Hundred Dollar coins issued between 1989 and 1994 displaying significant Australian native animals.

The coin is absolutely stunning, a very beautiful proof minted by the Royal Australian Mint in Deakin, ACT (just outside the Australian capital of Canberra). The coin is 24 mm in diameter, weighs 10 grams and contains 0.2947 troy oz of gold in a 22 carat alloy.

This proof version is encapsulated and comes in a hinged lid presentation case with Certificate of Authenticity and a sleeved outer cardboard box.

The boxes were still sealed when we received them, I had to open both just to be sure there was something in there!

Total mintage was 14,616.
