This 1986 100-franc silver coin commemorates the centennial of the Statue of Liberty.

The Statue of Liberty Enlightening the World was a gift of friendship from the people of France to the people of the United States, and is a universal symbol of freedom and democracy.

Coin is a beautiful proof strike, weighs 15 grams and is .900 fine silver, so actual silver content is 13.5 grams, or 0.434 troy oz.

The reverse shows the French national motto "LIBERTE, EGALITY, FRATERNITE", the face value, and the year of issue. In small letters on the right edge of the face is 'DURAND-MEGRET'.

Coin is minted by Monnaie de Paris (the French Mint) and comes in an acrylic holder, display box and certificate of authenticity from the mint.
