1976-S U.S. Mint Independence Bicentennial Silver Proof set.

For the 200th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence there were special circulating coins struck for one year, in addition the US Mint struck these special Silver Proofs.

This set only includes the Bicentennial Dime, Quarter and Half Dollar, all in 40% Silver. These are the only Dimes and Quarters ever made with 40% silver (the 1965-1970 Half Dollars were 40%).

In display/presentation box comes with Certificate of Authenticity. Coins are protected in acrylic holders.

Photo is of the original styrafoam shipping box, the sets currently in stock have the coins in the display folder. The shipping materials have been discarded at some point in the last 35 years.
