Product Description

Eisenhower Dollars were struck to commemorate Dwight D. Eisenhower, who died in 1969, and the Apollo 11 moon landing of the same year. It was minted for only a seven year period. The coins were often saved as mementos of Eisenhower and never saw much circulation outside of casinos.

This coin was struck as a proof at the San Francisco Mint in 40% silver (contains 0.3162 Troy oz of silver) and sold to collectors. Originally packed in a special plastic holder and in a brown box it acquired the nickname "Brown Ike".

This coin is in the plastic holder but is missing the Brown box.
