It is the largest and heaviest legal tender silver coin ever issued, weighing in at 130 grams (4.18 Troy Ounces). The coin is Sterling Silver (.925 Fine) so actual silver content is 3.85 Troy oz.

Original mintage was 48,000 coins, but many were melted down during the price spike of the early 1980's.
