1927 US St Gaudens $20 Gold Coin (Double Eagle). US Double Eagles contain 0.9675 Troy oz of gold in a 90% alloy with copper.
This coin is Almost Uncirculated, and should grade as an AU-58. It looks very good, but there are just a few scratches and a ding on the edge that would stop it from grading MS-62 or 63.
The "Saint Gaudens" Double Eagle is considered to be one of the most beautiful US coins ever designed. Minted from 1907 to 1933 the St. Gaudens is named after its designer, the sculptor Augustus St. Gaudens.
The modern US $50 Gold Eagle copied the Walking Liberty of the Saint Gaudens in it's design, a fitting tribute to the talent of St. Gaudens.
We are not currently buying ungraded pre-1933 US Gold coins.
