Product Description

The Austrian 4 Florins/10 Francs was issued between 1870 and 1891 as "trade coinage" for use as bullion coins. All coins dated 1892 are official restrikes, and are still being minted.

Coin contains 0.0933 Troy oz of fine gold, in a 0.900 alloy with copper. Total coin weight is 0.1037 Troy oz, and has a diameter of 19 mm.

The obverse features the bust of Emperor Franz Joseph I facing right, with the legend FRANCISCUS IOSEPHUS I D G IMPERATOR ET REX, while the reverse has the arms of Austria superimposed upon a crowned double-headed Imperial eagle, and legend IMPERIUM AUSTRIACUM, 4FL and 10 Fr on either side, with the date below. The edge has an incuse inscription VIRIBUS UNITIS.
